Start with the appliance type
A refrigerator, freezer, washer, dryer, stove, dishwasher and water heater can each have different prep needs. Texting the appliance type helps confirm the right pickup plan.
Check whether self-haul makes sense
Self-haul can work when you have help, a safe vehicle, clear access and time. Paid pickup makes more sense when the appliance is inside, upstairs, very heavy or part of a rental turnover.
Disconnect before pickup
Water, gas, electrical and hardwired connections should be safely disconnected before pickup. Dishwashers, stoves and water heaters often need extra attention.
Use photos to prevent surprises
Send one photo of the appliance and one photo of the path out. This helps confirm stairs, parking, gates, hallways and whether the item is ready to lift.
